What appeals to you the most about the Guild?:
That theres DOES seem to be a lot of roleplay going on, and not the average CC low-quality one, but rather decent one onto, after having met some of you, very enjoyable one.
In what way do you see yourself contribute to the Group?
Having participated in (*thinks*) two roleplay-taverns (one in DAoC, one in AoC) as a waitress, dancer (and a bouncer ...geez, hope thats the correct word.), i do enjoy helping out ... if it is for roleplaying matters (need a npc to be played for a longer plot ?) or with the game content (although i´m a lazy bum when it comes to crafting ... it all ends up in my bankvault.)
What's your characters traits; Their flaws, their strengths?
Born down in Westside on a cold december morning as Aleena Harper, daughter of a quite mediocre dentist and his wife. Little is known of her early life, but ~thanks~ to her fathers lousy work, the young girl was unable to attend school ... and quite soon in her life, she focused her attention on another way to make a living ...
Young at years, yet not unexperienced, Aleena arranged with the leader of the Maniac ... one of the bigger gangs in Westside, and took up her work as a courier at the age of ten. She soon became something like a lucky charm for the gang, making her taboo. Spending more and more time out in the streets hanging around the gangmembers, hardly ever returning home, Aleena found out the hard way that being taboo and uncaring won´t work for everyone ...
While watching some maniacs playing cards, the message reached her that both of parents had suffered a, so she was told, "fatal mixup". A group of young maniac-recruits had ambushed her mum and dad in one of westside´s many alleys. That wouldn´t have been that much of a problem, but her unlucky father had chosen just that special moment to for once in his life show some bravery ... with terrible result for him and his wife.
Even though the gangleader made an example and executed the four unlucky recruits in front of all his followers and Aleena, anger and the thirst for vengeance had clutched the young girls heart. As years passed by, Aleena continued to work as a courier for the gang ... and enhanced her almost natural skills to become a quite decent cutpurse. Yet the young girl played a two-sided game ...
Practicing her thieveries only on members of the rivalgangs, Aleena also started to work for MCPD Roberts as a spy inside the maniacs, helping out the judiciary every now and then with informations about the gangs plans. Although not a normal life, everything seemed to work just fine for the little outlaw, until that special evening ...
Already covered in some old newspapers lying high up on some pipes below the roof of an abbandoned warehouse, the young girl was all set to get some goodnights sleep ... when the lights went on, and voices could be heard coming from far below her. A strange gathering it was that was held just below her choosen sleepingplace. An asianlooking woman covered in violet and yellow robes spoke to a group of - Aleenas eyes widened - purpleskinned demons. Although frightened, something else caught Aleenas attention as her eyes were almost forced to look at it ... a slightly red glowing ruby the size of her middlefinger lay on the table just behind the asian woman. Torn between fear and greed, the greed finally won ...up until today, if asked about it, Aleena is not quite sure how she managed to crawl down the pipes ... grab the ruby, and even manage to get out of the warehouse uncaught. It was like the ruby hid her from everyones sight.
Yet, every luck comes to an end. On her way to Cranky Carl, a receiver of stolen goods whose shop was right next to the Kountry Komics store, Aleena suddenly tripped without any reason while crossing the street. The ruby fell to the ground and shattered like it was just a piece of glass ... and a small cloud of red fog emerged from the smithereens, covering Aleenas head. Foggy tentacles invaded her mouth and nose, and the little girl lost her consciousness and felt to the ground. Hours later when she awoke again, there was a teasing, giggling voice inside her head greeting her ...
The uninvited guest introduced herself as (*Censored* - You know how it is with demons and their real names ? *winks*), demoness of Mischief and trickery. Having been kept in the ruby for years by the sorceress Aleena had stolen it from as some sort of oracle, the demoness took her opportunity and tempted the young cutpurse to snatch her right from the table. One can understand the horror that Aleena struck at first when she realized she now had to share her body with a , what she thought it was, "evil entity" ... but as time went by, the two advanced from ~looking suspicious at each other~ to ~Alright it seems we can get along quite well~. The demoness spent some time "convincing" Aleena to do some mischief ... laughing her head of as she watched the young girl getting into trouble. As well, she dug up Aleenas darker desires which she had kept locked up at the far back of her mind, and made her admit them in public ... which led to some quite embarrasing scenes and suspicious looks. Still, Aleena grew quite fond of the somewhat uninvited guest ... and as weeks passed without the young girl showing any resistance, the souls of both Aleena and (*censored*) slowly merged ... becoming one.
That had its advantages, as well as some disadvantages of course. Granting Aleena the abilities of a somewhat limited shapeshifting and the control over fire, she was also stuck with a scaly tail, red eyes and a forked tongue in every shape she changed to. Another disadvantage showed his ugly head a few weeks later ... The demonesses necessity of being drawn towards strong spellweavers, in addition with the both´s desire for collars brought Aleena in quite some trouble as she, willingly, became the slave of a quite potent sorceress. Happy at first, the young girl soon found out that her new "mistress" was more the sort of a collector ... catching dozens like her without even caring about them, treating them as mere exhibits. Months passed while the collar forced the young demoness / girl to stay loyal to her mistress, even aiding her in the process of forcing others under her mistresses will. Yet, Aleena grew more and more unlucky with her situation ...
Aleena started to visit the Club Caprice more often ... first tending towards alcohol, especially to a drink that is called "Nightmare" which was especially for metas like her, she soon compensated her urge to feel useful or at least "wanted" by picking up a rather odd job - Preyrunning. Signing contracts with terrestrial and even extraterrestial hunters, Aleena began running ... playing the prey for them. The thrill of the hunt finally gave her some of the feeling she wanted so badly - feeling wanted, and ... deep inside her ... carried the hope that on one of these hunts, one hunter would succeed ... ending her unwanted slavery. On one of these evenings, Aleena "rescued" a couple from the threat of one of the "stranger" guests at the Club ... and in return, she was promised a drink.
That was the time when Aleena met Ellenoire.
The young girl soon started to like the somewhat strangely clad woman ... and as time passed, she opened her heart to the self-declared barkeep, telling her the whole story. Some discussing about a possible solution passed, and a few days later Ellenoire introduced Aleena to a sorceress she knew ... Elizabeth Masters. Although she had little hope that the sorceress would suceed, Liz Master really managed to free the young girl of the collar ... although, as a sideeffect, Aleena is now stuck in a halfdemon, halfhuman form. But the sorceress promised to work that out ...
In the meantime, Aleena has sworn to do penance ... not only for all the thievery she had done, not only for the death of her parents ... but to seek remission for being so uncaring, and to aid UNTIL and the MCPD in their quest to make Millenium City a safer place. As a heroine, she now calls herself "Emberflake" ...
Strengths: If it is because she is driven to do penance, or just her nature ... if someone calls Aleena his or her friend, she will all for sure go to the end of the world for him or her ... not really minding any threat that could possibly stay in the way, to the point to take a heavy beating on herself then having someone else receiving it. She is quite open minded and not easily shocked. What only very few know ... and Aleena tries to hide it well ... that she is a very good cook.
Flaws: Despite that she still refers to herself as "human", her demonic appendents often get her into trouble ... wether its people calling her a "succubus" (and she really hates that), or officials and clerks mocking her as a meta. If these things happen, Aleena can get quite feisty. Another flaw that Aleena surprisingly has NO Mindbarrier, nor any other telepathic defense, leaving her as an open book for everyone with even the smalles telepathic powers ... which also makes it terribly hard for her to lie.
What position do you see your Character in the House of Thorns?
Referring to her passion for cooking, Aleena could fill the role of a cook, or a waitress ... or, due to her rather protective behaviour, as some sort of a bodyguard or bouncer.

Hello, Aleena. Thank you for the application. As you are aware, we are in a Recruitment Freeze, but certainly getting the ball rolling with an application and RP is very helpful and encouraged.

Sheesh ! *blushes* Thank you ever so much for reminding me, Miss Lilith.
I´ve read the required threads a while ago, but it must have somehow slipped my mind to write down the required phrase, so here goes:
